Motorhome flat towing an SUV with a tow bar on an Okanagan highway

Flat Towing & Tow Bars

Tow bars, base plates, towed vehicle wiring and supplemental braking, supplied and installed.

Flat towing means towing a vehicle with all four wheels on the road, usually behind a motorhome. It lets you bring your car or truck along on a trip without a trailer. OK Hitch supplies and installs the components to flat tow a vehicle behind a motorhome, at our shop in Kelowna.

Not every vehicle can be flat towed. Check your owner’s manual, or ask us.

What a flat tow setup includes

  • Base plates attach to the front of the vehicle you are towing and give the tow bar a place to connect.
  • Tow bars connect the base plate to the hitch on your motorhome.
  • Towed vehicle wiring lets the towed vehicle’s lights show your motorhome’s brake lights and turn signals.
  • Supplemental braking systems help the towed vehicle brake when the motorhome slows down.

Brands we carry

We carry flat tow components from Blue Ox, Demco, Roadmaster and RVi.

Your motorhome’s hitch
